Parenting can fill your heart with both joy and despair. As a mom, and step-mom, I’ve benefited greatly from my training and understanding of the science of attachment. I’m forever grateful for the work of John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth, the founders of attachment theory. Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) is based on the science of attachment. It provides us with a clear map that helps us understand our children’s needs, and how to respond to them in a way that creates safety and a secure bond.

I take an EFFT approach in my work with families, as I guide you in your desire to connect. I’ll work with you to understand the unique challenges that you and your family are facing. We’ll work together to identify your goals for family therapy and set out a plan for our work together. I see most families for 8 to 20 sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I find my work with families to be particularly rewarding. The positive effects of family therapy can be powerful and create a ripple effect for generations to come.
